python-dpkt software package provides Python packet creation / parsing module, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-dpkt
python-dpkt is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-dpkt package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-dpkt *
You will get with python-dpkt package name, version, architecture and description in a table
